ABSTRACT  Objective: To investigate the prescription features of anti-bacterials in adult burn inpatients in multi-center hospitals,so as to provide solid evidence for pharmaceutical care in the treatment of burns. Methods: By using frequency statistical method, analyses of antibacterial application in adult burn patients hospitalized in multi-center hospitals were made in the course of the study. Results and Conclusion: Included in the study were 12 483 inpatients, most of whom were medium-aged males. The rate of antibacterial application in adult burn inpatients was 89.65%,antibacterial use density was as high as 110.65 DDDs,and the rate of antibacterial application on the first day of admission was 53.75%.Antibacterial application on the first day of admission in burn inpatients was popular in China, with cephalosporin, penicillin with β-lactamase inhibitor,or β-lactamase sensitive penicillin as empirically prophylactic measures. In most cases, combined use of antibiotics were quite common in burn patients, therefore, pathogen culture should duly be performed to ensure rational application of antibiotics.
