ABSTRACT  Recently there have been more and more adverse drug reaction(ADR) reports of Chinese materia medica (CMM) and it is difficult to evaluate the ADR of CMM.The definition of ADR of CMM is discussed and new methods of pharmacoepidemiology are introduced in this paper. It is important that proper new methods should be used to evaluate the ADR of CMM.
