Effects of ginkgo leaf extract and dipyridamole injection combined with hyperbaric oxygen on hematoma,cerebral edema and prognosis of the patients with hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage

ABSTRACT  Objective: To observe the efficacy of ginkgo leaf extract and dipyridamole (GLED) injection combined with hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) in the treatment of the patients with hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage. Methods: 92 patients with hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage were divided into the GLED+HBO group (n=42),the GLED group (n=24) and the simple HBO group (n=26). All patients were treated with dehydration and hemostasis after admission. Seven days after hospitalization,the GLED+HBO group was treated with GLED injection intravenous drip plus HBO therapy,the GLED group juse received GLED injection,and the HBO group was treated with HBO in addition to ATP,once a day,for a total of 10 days. Head CT scanning was performed to measure the size of cerebral hematoma and the size of (hematoma+edema). Neural function deficits were assessed using the scoring criteria of clinical neural function deficits in patients with stroke. Results: After treatment for 10 days,the volumes of cerebral hematoma and hematoma plus edema of the patients in the GELD+HBO group were significantly smaller than those in the GLED group (P<0.05) and the HBO group (P<0.05). The scores of neural function deficits were also significantly lower in the GELD+HBO group,as compared with those of the GLED group and HBO group (P<0.05). Conclusion: GLED injection combined with HBO could promote the absorption of hematoma and edema in the patients with hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage,and alleviate the degree of neural function deficits.
