Pharmaceutical care for a patient with advanced cancer pain

ABSTRACT  Objective: To explore the role clinical pharmacists in the treatment of the patients with cancer pain.Methods: Clinical pharmaceutical care by pharmacists was realized through full involvement in the pain treatment of one cancer patient at advanced stage.Results: Clinical pharmacists provided pharmaceutical care from the perspectives of choice of initial drugs,adjustment of subsequent treatment profiles,monitoring of treatment regimen and medication education on special drugs.Conclusion: Through professional advantages,clinical pharmacists could closely collaborate with physicians for the realization of individualized treatment of cancer pain.
