ABSTRACT  Exosome is a kind of membrane vesicle that is actively secreted by cells and widely present in various body fluids, with a diameter between 40 and 100 nm.The biomacromolecules contained in exosomes are important media to convey information between tumor cells.Exosomes also play an important role in regulating genesis and growth of tumors.Using exosomes as biomarkers for tumor detection is a more sensitive and accurate method for tumor diagnosis.Exosomes possess a natural drug-loading advantage because of their particular structure and particle size,so they are a promising target drug carrier. This article starts with the structure and function of exosomes, and reviews the research progress of exosomes in the development of tumor targeted diagnosis and drug delivery system.
