Preparation and quality evaluation of cinnamaldehyde dropping pills

ABSTRACT  Objective: To screen the optimal technology for preparation of cinnamaldehyde dropping pills,prepare cinnamaldehyde dropping pills and evaluate their quality.Methods: Single factor and orthogonal test design were used to determine the optimal preparation technology of dropping pills,with the weight difference limit,dissolution time limit and roundness as evaluation indexes.The content of cinnamaldehyde dropping pills was determined by HPLC method.Results: The optimal preparation technology of cinnamaldehyde dropping pills was as follows:the condensate was liquid paraffin,the condensation temperature was 5-10 ℃,the temperature of the drug liquid solution was 80 ℃,and the optimal matrix was PEG-6000∶PEG-4000 =1∶2,the mass ratio of drug to matrix was 1∶5,the dropping speed was 40 drops/min,and the cooling distance was 35 cm.The weight difference limits of the three batches of dropping pills was 4.49%,4.62% and 4.17%,and the average dissolution time limits were (263±3) s,(251±5) s and (272±7) s(n=6).The quality of the dropping pills all met the required specifications.Conclusion: The preparation technology is stable and reliable,and the quality of the prepared dropping pills meets the requirements of the Pharmacopoeia of the People’s Republic of China.
